We come back after a long time the program "New song, New bit on JSM Radio!". We start again with new music every Sunday from 1 pm till 4 pm (Paris Time). You can listen three new complete albums in play-list. Indeed on, these pieces are then programmed in the usual program of the radio following their style or origin.

The New Orleans Rhythm Kings (nicknamed NORK) were one of the most influential jazz bands of the early-to-mid 1920s. The band was a combination of New Orleans and Chicago musicians who helped shape Chicago Jazz and influenced many younger jazz musicians


The Ultimate Jazz Archive Set 01 - Scott Joplin

Scott Joplin (c. 1867 – April 1, 1917) was an American composer and pianist. He achieved fame for his unique ragtime compositions, and was dubbed the "King of Ragtime." During his brief career, Joplin wrote 44 original ragtime pieces, one ragtime ballet, and two operas. One of his first pieces, the "Maple Leaf Rag", became ragtime's first and most influential hit, and has been recognized as the archetypal rag.


He was born into a musical African-American family of laborers in eastern Texas, and developed his musical knowledge with the help of local teachers. During the late 1880s he traveled around the American South as an itinerant musician, and went to Chicago for the World's Fair of 1893 which played a major part in making ragtime a national craze by 1897.

The Ultimate Jazz Archive Set 01 - The Original Dixieland Jazz Band

The Original Dixieland Jass Band (ODJB) was a New Orleans, Dixieland Jazz band that made the first jazz recordings early in 1917. Their "Livery Stable Blues" became the first jazz single issued. The group composed and made the first recordings of many jazz standards, the most famous being Tiger Rag. In late 1917 the spelling of the band's name was changed to Original Dixieland Jazz Band.
